Basketball season opens. Maybe.

On the eve of a Nebraska first-- interscholastic pre-season scrimmages allowed by the NSAA to raise money for hurricane disater relief-- a major winter storm has ridden a dip in the jet stream straight into the path of those games. I guess weather will always trump.

A majority of the 'Hurricane Games' are scheduled for Monday night and are likely lost if the storm reaches the level they are predicting. If the storm peters out and the thousands of Nebraska students wishing for a snow day are denied, then we'll have a very interesting beginning to Basketball 2006.
